Group/Ungroup Object

Modified on Thu, Dec 4 at 2:26 PM

Group multiple selected objects into one object, or ungroup two or more objects into individual objects.

Grouped objects can be treated as one object, and you can move and resize them as you want.

Group multiple objects

To group multiple objects:

  1. Drag the mouse to make a selection that contain the object and release the mouse to select an object. All objects within the selection area are selected, with control points appearing around them.
  2. Right-click the selected object and click GroupGroup from the context menu. The selected objects are grouped together and move like an object.

Ungroup objects

To ungroup two or more grouped objects into individual objects:

  1. Select the grouped objects.
  2. Right-click the selected object and click GroupUngroup from the context menu. The grouped objects are separated into individual objects.

Note

Grouped objects can be edited

You can still edit shapes, text within objects and more without ungroup them.

Task pane configuration may vary depending on the number of objects you select

Depending on the number of objects you select, the task pane or configuration of it may vary. For example, if you select one shape object, the Text Box and Shape task pane appears. If you select multiple shape objects, the Multiple Objects task pane appears.
